I composed this track in early 2019, and a group of student musicians at William Paterson University (including me!) recorded and engineered it in May of that year. The title is a reference to the Hubble Deep Field image, and after premiering the work, my friends in the audience mentioned how much they liked "the one about space."

As it turns out, I'm not the first composer to use this title—Eric Whitacre also has a work inspired by the famous image. His 2018 version is an IMAX audiovisual experience produced in collaboration with NASA. But time will tell which "Deep Field" ends up in the history books.
